After the huge success of the two editions, Industry Live presents the FOOD CONNOISSEURS INDIA CONVENTION – West India. Starting off in 2021, FCIC – India’s largest convention for the F&B fraternity – has so far witnessed over 100 industry speakers and thought leaders coming on a single platform to deliberate on the ongoing trends and possible future trajectories for the industry while addressing over 3000 audience members from across different verticals. Comprising a conference, awards ceremony and an exhibition, the last two editions of the convention had overwhelming participation where more than 250 awards were presented to industry players across categories in the F&B space.
While the earlier editions of the convention addressed changes and innovations during and post the pandemic, helping the industry address and overcome the challenges faced, the upcoming edition aims at focusing on micro-trends that have altered the palate, brand and capacity building, food tech, cloud kitchens, food deliveries and a lot more to do with the food business. This Convention aims to foreground the inventive ways in which different champions of the industry conquered the challenges of contemporary times, opening the door to greater profits and expansion.
The pandemic has altered the F&B industry in a significant way, not only in terms of operations but also in terms of making the businesses more conscious about what is being put on the platter. One could say that the pandemic has re-fashioned the food and beverages segment with restaurants going for a leaner menu, shorter supply chains coupled with a renewed focus on technology among others. Alongside these, the almost two-year long haul also made the consumers, as well as the business owners, look in-house, thereby shifting the limelight to the in-house offerings, giving rise to a penchant for regional cuisine. A major credit for this trend goes to the spur in domestic tourism during the pandemic that introduced the consumers to a plethora of regional delicacies.
As the consumers are falling in love with Indian cuisine all over again and are ready to binge-eat the sumptuous varieties on offer, the restaurants are all set to experiment with this previously less-explored category.
FOOD CONNOISSEURS INDIA CONVENTION – West Edition is an initiative to bring the industry experts and think tanks under one roof to discuss, debate, and reflect on the wide range of opportunities the food industry, particularly the home-grown cuisine, could offer, which can help one decode probable business strategies in the post-pandemic era while making the brand shock-proof at the same time.
